ABOUT ME

Hi! I am Professor Naaheed Mukadam
I completed my Medical Sciences undergraduate degree at Cambridge University, with an intercalated BA in Experimental Psychology, and then studied Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford.

My psychiatric training was completed on the Royal Free Psychiatric Training rotation and I obtained my CCT in Old Age Psychiatry in 2013.
I then did a doctoral research training fellowship from the NIHR to design and test an intervention to encourage South Asian people to seek help earlier for dementia. During my PhD, I collaborated on a number of studies, continuing my interest in inequalitites related to ethnicity and expanding my research interests to include the epidemiology of dementia. I am a member of the Lancet Standing Commission on dementia prevention, intervention and care, Interdem and a member of the European Consortium on Cross-Cultural Neuropsychology
My current work is focused on using inter-ethnic epidemiology to find new ways of preventing and treating dementia.
